Moss Walls
Our preserved moss wall are made from a combination of different types of preserved mosses, foliage and other natural materials such as mushrooms or twigs.
The moss is carefully preserved in a special process, that takes the water out and replaces it with glycerin. This way the preserved moss wall stays lush for years to come.
Our moss walls are absolutely maintenance free. Think of it as an artwork but with plants not paint. Unlike a living wall, it needs no trimming, sunlight or watering required.
In the right conditions moss wall will last 8+ years. After, it would need to be retouched. In order to keep your wall in pristine conditions:
- Avoid touching the mosses , bending or crushing foliage
- Keep the moisture level above 30% and below 80%
- Keep out of direct sunlight
The cost depends on many factors, such as which type of moss is used, whether we add foliage and whether we have it framed or not. Please contact us for a quick quote and we will provide it right away.
Our current lead times are about 2-4 weeks depending on the complexity of the project.
Living wall
If lighting conditions and maintenance practices are done as recommended, the plant will be viable for years. While there will be some small attrition, cue to the plant species We recommend, and the controlled growing conditions, root-bound plants rarely if ever occur in the Versa Wall System.
Since the plants wick water from the base of the pot, no water runs through the growth material or from the leaves to the floor. Furthermore, the trays interlock and only take a measured amount of water bofore the excess water drains Into a tank or overfiow drain so no water leaves the system.
The system is designed for 4” (10cm) potted plants to allow maximum design flexibility and ease of replacement and/or seasonal addition of plants. Larger plants will not work in the system.
1500 lux Of light provided across the entire surface of the wall for approximately 10 to 12 hours per day with a color temp. of 4000 to 4500″ K. We recommend that either Metal Halide or LED’S be used on a dedicated timer.
No, unless installed under an overhang or some kind of protection from wind and rain, at which time lighting may become a consideration.
Yes. While water supply and drain are preferred recirculation tanks can be utilized on smaller walls Water caddies on hoses can be used to fill the tanks.
